Jane Asselta currently serves as Vice President of the Southern New Jersey Development Council (SNJDC), a non-profit business association comprised of key leaders and decision-makers representing over 300 businesses and organizations in the public and private sectors in New Jersey’s eight southern counties.
Established nearly 70 years ago, the SNJDC is 501(c)(6) non-profit organization charged with promoting responsible economic development in South Jersey through efforts in hands-on economic development, content that supports business retention and expansion, and advocacy activities. The SNJDC mission is to support economic development and maintain businesses that lead to better jobs, higher wages and tax revenues in southern New Jersey.
Jane’s efforts to advocate for South Jersey have been instrumental in creating partnerships with local, county and state officials, accessing essential programs and grants, and fostering connections and opportunities to further economic development in the region.
With over 20 years of experience in development and community/government affairs, Jane directs membership services, marketing and outreach activities as well as advocacy and legislative affairs. Jane maintains regular contact with SNJDC members to ensure a meaningful relationship between the Development Council and its membership.
Once the weather turns warm, Jane can be found volunteering with the Haddon Township Community Garden Club and keeps her public service close to home serving as Treasurer and Membership Director of her neighborhood Bluebird Community Club.
Jane Asselta is a native of Vineland growing up a few miles from the family’s produce farm when “farm to table” was a way of life. Jane is a graduate of Douglass College, Rutgers University and Vineland High School.
